Beauty Specialists Course ITEC Level 2 Certificate

Course details

The main aim of the ITEC Level 2 Certificate for Beauty Specialists is to enable learners to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills in order to provide facial skincare and eye treatments to the general public and to gain employment in the beauty therapy industry.

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and over and is designed to provide occupational competence at level 2. It also provides a sound platform into further training at level 2 and 3.

This qualification is for learners who want to work within the beauty therapy industry. The qualification consists of 1 mandatory unit with a total of 100 hours of Guided Learning (GL) to achieve the full qualification.

  • Care of the skin
  • Cleansing,
  • Skin analysis,
  • Pre-heat treatments,
  • Exfoliation,
  • Facial massage and the use of face masks
  • Care of the eyebrows and eyelashes
  • Shaping and lash and brow tinting
  • Knowledge about related health and safety
  • Client care and communication

Marking Criteria

Once all aspects of the mandatory units have been completed,

Learners will be expected to complete an Internal Practical Assessment. This will be undertaken by the internal assessor using the internal assessment forms.

These will be handed to the ITEC external examiner on the day of the final external practical examination

  • Cynthia has been a qualified beauty therapist for over 35 years and currently has enterprises both in the United Kingdom and the Caribbean.  She was one of the first, if not the first tutor of Laser and light treatments in the United Kingdom.  Her expertise in the Beauty industry is second to none and she is a great trainer in her field.
  • Joyce is also a seasoned and qualified cosmotologist who has worked aboard cruise ships and currently has her own salon in St Lucia.
